What is the new number?
From July 13 2016 our new customer service number will be 0303 123 1702
Can I still contact officers through their direct dial numbers?
Yes. If you know the 01900 number which goes straight to an officer, these will still be in operation. The 0303 number is for customer service enquiries and replaces all the other general numbers such as 01900 702 702, 01900 702 800 and 01900 702 600.
How will this new number work?
Customers will be taken through a menu system to help them find the correct service for their enquiry.
Why is this being introduced?
We are changing telephone suppliers and introducing the BT One Phone system.
Will the old numbers continue to work?
For a period of time yes. We’ll have an initial transition when the old numbers will transfer the customer directly to the new system.
What are the cost of calls to the new number?
The number costs no more than calls to geographic (01 and 02) numbers. Calls from landlines and mobiles will also be included in any ‘free minutes’, allowances or discount schemes (i.e. Friends and Family) customers may receive from their telephone provider including mobile calls.
What other services are being introduced?
The introduction of BT One Phone will mean we can make further improvements to the ways in which our customers can contact us. We’re also introducing web-chat where people who are on our website can contact an advisor for general enquiries.
In addition the new call-back service means that when lines are busy customers can be indicate they would like to be called back when the next advisor is free – and they won’t lose their place in the queue.
What will the Council’s Out of Hours number be?
The Out of Hours will be the same as the new number 0303 123 1702
